Previously Unknown Home Plumbing Decorations For The Holidays

Tis’ the Season for Plumbing Decorations

“The stockings were hung by the chimney with care in hopes that Saint Nicholas would be there.” The house is ready for the big man to pay a visit. Everything is lit up and looking festive until you see your exposed pipes both inside and outside of the house.

They seem to add a damper to your festive spirit. But, have no fear, there are some decorative ideas you could take advantage of to cover up those unsightly pipes!

Outdoor Plumbing Festivities

outdoor plumbingMany pipes can be found on the outside of your home that really stands out. One of the easiest ways to decorate them is to cover them with lights to match the rest of your outdoor lighting decor. You could also decorate them as if they were candy canes.

You could do this by stringing red and white lights or buying fabric to cover it up. Another option that you have is to decorate it as if it’s the sign for the North Pole. Decorate the pipe with red and green and top it off with a sign jutting out from the side stating “Welcome to the North Pole!”

You can be creative with whatever other slogans you may want to consider. If you have big cut-outs of snowmen, reindeer, bells, or Santa Claus, you could hang them on the outdoor plumbing to cover it up a bit. This would take some creativity, but it is one way of masking the pipes in the background.

Deck the Kitchen Faucet With Boughs of Holly

The most populated space in the entire home is the kitchen. Many times it gets overlooked in terms of holiday decorations and that would be a big mistake, there are tons of kitchen plumbing spaces to decorate. The kitchen faucet is a great place to add some festive cheer. Garland is a popular addition to many homes during the holidays and can easily be wrapped about your faucet.

Another idea could be to wrap the faucet all in brown and top it off with mini felt antlers and a red nose as a live, movable Rudolph. Lastly, you could decorate your faucet as a Christmas tree that widens as it gets closer to where the water spurts out. This can be made from felt or paper mache. The kids would love to participate in decorating this very unique part of your kitchen.

No Grinchy Bathroom Plumbing

There are many Christmas themed toilet seat covers that you could purchase. You could also dress the whole behind of the toilet in red with a Santa Claus hat on top to symbolize sitting on Santa.

Lastly, you could hang a small wreath around your shower head for a little holiday cheer while you are freshening up for the arrival of the whole family.
